Delivery of the Integrated Bridge Console for the second AWD of Royal Australian Navy
On September 23rd, Sainsel has successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the Integrated Bridge Console of the second AWD at its facilities located in San Fernando de Henares (Madrid).
The console design has been based on the previously performed for the Spanish Navy F100 class frigates, carrying out the necessary changes to suit the Australian warships’ specific requirements. Another console designed for the first destroyer was already delivered on November 2012 and is currently in the process of installation onboard.
Sainsel has supplied the consoles fully wired and with all the components integrated, thereby facilitating the set-up works at the shipyard in Adelaide (Australia).
Moreover, Sainsel engineers have provided training in the operation and maintenance of such consoles to instructors of ASC and Raytheon, companies leading a project which involves the construction of three destroyers in Australia. The knowledge acquired from the course will be used in a full training program for Navy crew.
This outstanding achievement is added to other integrated bridge consoles supplied by Sainsel for the most advanced warships of the Spanish Navy (BAM vessels, F105 frigate) and the Royal Australian Navy (LHD vessels).
